Digital Mine on OpenEgiz

Open Data

A Submission may use synthetic data and simulation with justified parameters, as well as open datasets (Rules, clauses 6.8–6.11):

The datasets below have had their licenses checked by the Organizer as of 5 October 2026. The list is a recommendation only and is not a legal opinion; the Team is responsible for the lawful use of data (clause 6.10).

Dataset Area License and terms Use
Quality Prediction in a Mining Process (Kaggle) flotation CC0, no conditions; 184 MB — a subsample is recommended Flotation plant telemetry, prediction of SiO₂ content in the concentrate
Methane (Mendeley Data) gas, ventilation, underground mine CC BY 4.0, attribution; 59 MB 28 sensors (CH₄, anemometers, temperature, pressure) at 1 s intervals
seismic-bumps (UCI) seismicity, underground mine CC BY 4.0, attribution; 138 KB Seismic hazard assessment by shift
GeoMet dataset (Zenodo) geology and comminution CC BY 4.0, attribution; 0.4 MB Drill holes with coordinates, ore hardness, copper recovery
MWD dataset, 15 Norwegian hard rock tunnels (Zenodo) drilling CC BY 4.0, attribution; 5.5 MB Drilling parameters for 5,205 drill-and-blast cycles
Fragmentation from 3D drone image analysis, El Aljibe quarry (Zenodo) blasting CC BY 4.0, attribution; 36 KB Particle size distribution after 12 blasts
Energy consumption data of a mining and processing plant (Zenodo) energy CC BY-SA 4.0: attribution, modified data shared under the same terms; 1.1 MB Active and reactive power profiles of a mining and processing plant at 30-minute intervals
Jaw crushing tests of granite: vibration and current (Zenodo) crushing CC BY 4.0, attribution; 9.8 GB — subsample only Vibration and motor currents of a jaw crusher
OpenMines, north_pit_mine.json (GitHub) open-pit haulage MIT, license text must be kept; 6 KB Parameters of a real open pit: 71 haul trucks, excavators, cycle times
Mineral Facilities of Northern and Central Eurasia (USGS) mines of Kazakhstan no restrictions, citing USGS is recommended; 153 KB Mines and processing plants of Kazakhstan with their capacities

No open telemetry from haul trucks and excavators with a suitable license has been found. For haulage Modules, synthetic data calibrated against OpenMines and equipment data sheets are recommended.

Attribution

The CC BY license requires stating the author, title and source of the dataset, a link to the license, and any changes made (subsampling, format conversion). It is recommended to put this information in a data/<dataset>/README.md file or in a shared DATA_LICENSES.md file linked from the "Data and Assumptions" section.

A dataset keeps its own license: the code of the Submission is distributed under the MIT license, and data files under the terms of the dataset's license.
